BIO

Svetlana Talanova is a London-based artist, working with cameraless photography, creating images by hand in the darkroom. She explores the intersection and interconnection of nature and humanity, ecology and sustainability. 

She holds an MA in Photography (with Distinction for Research) from the Royal College of Art (2021). Talanova has been featured widely in group exhibitions in Europe, Asia, Australia and the US, including Summer Exhibition at Royal Academy of Arts, London (2022); Shaping Futures at the UK Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai (2022); CCP Salon at Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne, Australia (2022); Inspiration Women Exhibition at God’s House Tower, Southampton (2022); London Grads Now at Saatchi Gallery, London (2021); #social 2021 at Czong Institute for Contemporary Art, Seoul, South Korea (2021); After The High Tide at Cromwell Place, London (2021); The Makeable Mind at Noorderlicht International Photography Festival, Netherlands (2021); Time to Think at Festival Pil’Ours, France (2019 & 2020); and A Day in Your Life at Saatchi Gallery, London (2019).

She was commissioned by Westfield London (Future Fashion, 2021), to produce a unique large scale work promoting Sustainability for exhibition at Westfield for a year from September 2021 to August 2022.

She was shortlisted for Bloomberg New Contemporaries (2021) and Arts Thread Global Design Graduate show in Collaboration with GUCCI (2021), nominated for the Fine Art Photography Awards (2021 & 2020) and was selected as a finalist in the Food Photographer of the Year Awards (2020). She was shortlisted for the Royal Photographic Society Postgraduate Bursary (2020). Talanova is the recipient of the a-n Bursary ‘Time Space Money’ (2022) and was selected for the Nikon – NOOR Academy Masterclass in Paris (2022).
